DENVER — Three people died and a third was hospitalized with critical injuries after an SUV struck a tree early Sunday morning.
The accident happened at about 1:30 a.m. at Perry Street and Bayaud Avenue.
According to Denver Police, the Lincoln Navigator was traveling southbound on Perry at a “high rate of speed” when the driver lost control.
The SUV struck a tree, instantly killing the male driver, a male passenger and a female passenger. A third passenger, a male, was taken to Denver Health Medical Center in critical condition.
No names were released.
Police are trying to determine if alcohol or drugs were factors in the crash.
