who are we
offering what we have
ribbons unfurling
down the length of our spine
aren't we all
torn away
still clinging
curling into ourSelves and the
Tree of Life
offering what we choose
who we want to be
withholding what we dare not shed
thin strips rent
by the gravity of time
liberated by the desire to give
cascading release and shadows cast
beneath textured layers on this
Tree of Life
who are we
offering what feels safe
simple complex beings
protecting what is dear
exfoliating cautiously
conscious though not always
radiance is revealed with or without skin
each of us a
Tree of Life
offering what we can
we are who
-le holy vulnerable
afraid
firmly
rooted to beliefs
that strengthen
and weaken the
Tree of Life
who are we
offering and relinquishing
love to all beings ourSelves too
perhaps it is not what we give freely
that is to be most treasured
but the armor sloughed
by the gravity of time
deep wisdom grown on this
Tree of Life
