One Tree Hill: Most Memorable Moments (Part 1) - TV Fanatic

With the One Tree Hill series finale just around the corner, it is time to remember some of our favorite moments from the teen drama that bridged the gap between iconic hits like Beverly Hills, 90210 and current winners, such as The Vampire Diaries.

In the three days remaining before Nathan, Brooke, Haley and company say goodbye to America for good, TV Fanatic will be counting down the nine moments from nine seasons of One Tree Hill that will stay will with us for as long as Naley stays together.

9. Lindsey leaves Lucas at the altar.

It was the 100th episode of One Tree Hill, and the 12th of season five. In “Hundred,” every Leyton and Brucas fan on Earth was on the edge of his or her respective seat as Luke got closer and closer to marrying Lindsey. Luckily for everyone involved, the bride put a stop to the entire thing when she realized Lucas’s true feelings for Peyton. As we know now, Leyton did end up together, got married, had a baby, and so selfishly left us a little more than a year later.

8. Don’t say I never gave you anything.

It might have begun as a way to get to his rival of a half-brother, but Nathan’s courting of Haley turned out to be one of the most steady and genuine aspects of One Tree Hill. In just the third episode ever of the series, Nathan gave Haley a piece of junk bracelet and said the now famous words, “Don’t say I never gave you anything.” The moment has been referenced and flashed back on throughout the series, as it was the beginning of something very special.

7. Brooke Davis has her happily ever after.

She went through some phases, and Brooke Davis had her issues with boys, but in “The Other Half of Me,” she married the man of her dreams. Julian Baker may not be the coolest guy on the planet, but he continues to make Brooke happy day after day, and that is exactly what every One Tree Hill fan has always wanted someone to do. Haley gave a heart-warming speech about Brooke, and Jamie a cute one about the bride and groom, but the moment that left us all speechless was watching Brooke walk down the aisle in her gorgeous dress.

Tree Damaged By Tornado Turned Into Art | FOX2now.com – St ...

Lambert Airport has undergone renovations following the April 22, 2011 tornado and so had a Bridgeton woman’s back yard.  Chris York decided to have a damaged tree on her property turned into art. Tree trimmers didn’t want to remove what was left of the tree, so York called a Fenton woodcarver Ryan Meyer of “The Wood Den”. York had seen some of his work on trees in a nearby cemetery.

We’re excited to bring you our first video exclusive to RideBMX.com–Clint Reynolds and his Welcome to Tree day in the life video. Tree recently picked up Clint for their team and hooked us up with an awesome video showing Clint going about his day to day activities–breakfast in his Airstream followed by a day in the woods. Clint has always impressed me both as a rider and a person to commemorate this exclusive, I reflected a bit on the video, which you can read below.

In a consumer oriented world that is growing more and more contempt and disgust for the over indulgence by the day, humans like Clint Reynolds rise to the top of the pool of averageness of the world and naturally shine brighter than others–though it is not a deliberate attempt by Mr. Reynolds himself. Our new exclusive from Tree Bicycle Co. with Clint shows him living through a humble and typical day–starting his day off with a healthy, homemade breakfast inside of his Airstream trailer on Stew Johnson’s property in Austin, Texas, followed by a day in the woods, maintaining dirt sculptures and buzzing the treetops. While most of American society snubs their nose at a human living in a trailer on a small patch of property, Clint shows that his lifestyle is much more Walden than Trailer Park Boys–though he is no stranger to fun and antics.

But enough about his morning, his trailer and its allegory to the world as a whole. Clint is no stranger to world and heads to the Eastside Woods, a masterpiece to many trail riders in the world and maintained by Clint and friends Matty Aquizap and James P. Nutter (among many others). There is plenty of Texas concrete to drive to and roast every day–but Clint prefers to keep it more “personal,” and his riding is a true testament to this. Why spend the day at the park, riding someone else’s creation with strangers, when you can be doing something constructive with a community of comrades that come from all across the globe?

A good percentage of park riding and a certainly the dirt scene are much more about quantity. Who can do the most spins? The most whips? Who can do them over the biggest jumps? Clint, his riding, and the trails he chooses to involve himself in are the antithesis of all this. Yes, the epic “Speedball” line in the woods of Austin, Texas may or may not be the fastest line in the States–but wasn’t built for accolades or for a figurative display of “who has the biggest genitalia in BMX” by its creators. It was simply a natural progression of the land, the trails, and the riders.

Clint did not receive a NORA Cup nomination with fellow Anthem II riders Mike Aitken, Sean Burns, and Mark Mulville. This was surprising in my eyes, but really not, all in the same instance. It takes a certain breed of rider to make a topside can can to one footed table look good, and it takes a certain type of rider to be able to appreciate it. Plenty of riders are taking inspiration from classic dirt jumping tricks and content on mashing, kicking, and jamming their appendages all over to be able to technically say that they “pulled it.” Meanwhile, Clint’s riding and lifestyle quitely state, “appropriateness,” and this makes a louder statement than almost everyone. With Tree’s grassroots and quality focused approach to component making, I can’t think of a more fitting pair. Gorgeous New Tree House Hotel in Thailand Offers a Green Retreat ...

It's enough to make any urban dweller green with envy: A place where you can breath clean air, explore a lush landscape, and sleep under the stars just a 30-minute ride outside the teeming, traffic-choked city center -- by public transportation, no less -- without giving up all the comforts of home.

Guests at the new Bangkok Tree House can whisk themselves away from the Thai capital and its 12 million people by hopping on a recently completed extension of the city's elevated-rail network, the BTS Skytrain, to the Bangna station and then continuing on by foot, bicycle, or boat. (There's no road access to the hotel.)

The 'Greenest Hotel in Thailand'?
Proprietor Joey Tulyanond hopes to make his 11-room lodge, a cluster of jungle tree houses including the new two-person "View with a Room," a wall- and ceiling-free sleeping platform that offers "360 degrees of nature," the "greenest hotel in Thailand." So far it seems like he's off to a good start.

Locally sourced bamboo was a major component in the construction process, which also employed upcycling of discarded materials, including the driftwood that washes onto the riverside property. "Discarded juice cartons were used to insulate our walls, used plastic drums were used to build our pier, and reclaimed wood was used to build our walkways," the owners write in their "Green Alphabet" of the hotel's features.

Green From 'A' To 'Z'
At the Bangkok Tree House, all kitchen and organic waste are composted; laundry is line-dried; water is served in refillable glass bottles; solar cookers are used to prepare the lunchtime meals; plants clean the air in the rooms and the water in the natural swimming pond; organic herbal soaps and shampoos come from local sellers; outdoor and restaurant lights are powered by the wind and sun; and 2.2 pounds of trash are removed from the adjacent Chao Phraya River for every booking made.

The hotel's "Reflect" restaurant menu highlights organic, local, and in-season produce -- much of it grown on premises, using harvested rainwater -- in its sustainable seafood, Thai, and vegan options. (Travel bloggers J.J. Grill and C.B. Maiginpak have penned a mouthwatering description of the fare.) Even the wine list includes organic, biodynamic, and vegan selections.

If guests tire of lounging, eating, and swimming, they can hop on free rental bikes to pedal through fruit orchards and native vegetation on the area's many bike paths, visiting 200-year-old temples, a nearby botanical park, and the Bang Nam Peung floating market. There's so much to bike to in the area that the travel bloggers the Globetrotter Girls wrote: "If you do not do cycle here, you are wasting your stay at the Bangkok Tree House."

The owners caution, however, that "the Tree House is not for everyone" and encourage prospective guests to make sure they are a "compatible match" before booking (i.e. they won't freak out if they see a few bugs roaming around): "You will love the Bangkok Tree House if you love trees, plants, exotic lizards, birds, fireflies, cicadas, butterflies, and mother nature."

On this Wednesday One Tree Hill finale, The CW drama will take a walk down memory lane. Or Peyton lane, to be more precise.

As depicted in the following sneak peek, Brooke will be brought way back in time when she settles on the set of Julian's book adaption, sitting on a bed from Peyton's recreated bedroom and remembering all the times she spent there, all the ways it shaped the woman she has become.

Detroit Edison Announces Tree Trimming Schedule « CBS Detroit

DETROIT (WWJ) –  Detroit Edison tree trimming crews will be working in several local communities over the next two months, removing fallen limbs and cutting back branches.

Vince Dow, DTE Energy vice president of Distribution Operations, said the goal is to trim a 10-foot distance between tree branches and power lines in order to reduce tree-related power outages.

“The pruning method we use removes only the branches located too close to power lines and helps ensure that future growth is directed away from power lines,” Dow said in a release.

Once the tree trim work is completed, Detroit Edison removes small branches and debris from customer properties. Larger trimmed branches are cut to firewood length and left behind for customer use of disposal. Detroit Edison will not remove diseased tree debris.
